I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas- although at the moment I currently
reside in a small town in Louisiana. Most people might think that explaining
my past is redundant, but I feel that how I grew up is the basis of who I
am today. From a young age I had such a large interest in art as well as
reading. I remember picking up my first book (Dr. Seuss', "One Foot,
Two Foot.") and telling myself that I wouldn't stop until I could read
every word. And without fail, I had read everything I could possibly get
my hands on. As I grew, my interests began to vary to prose, poetry- as well
as art. My mother was an artist herself- and she inspired me to keep on pursuing
my dreams to be an artist. Though, now a days I don't consider myself an
artist- I still have a great passion for it. Personally I believe that if
I can effect someone with my words, or my art work- then I have done something
right. Everyone is different- but we are all able to feel the same emotions.
I believe everything is connected this way and that is why I prefer traditional
mediums over digital. While digital artwork is amazing, I feel that I don't
have the same connection with it as I do with traditional art. I get great
pleasure from mulling over different palletes, getting my fingers into the
paint- trying different techiniques to get across my message.
I am currently your typical 19 year old- on the verge of being 20. I'll be
attending my first year of college in the fall. And, no, I have no idea what
I'll be studying. I'm dancing on the thin line of 'what the Hell am I doing
with my life?', and knowing exactly what I want. I'm constantly trying to
get the most out of my life, and learn as much as I can in the process.
